The planning for this road was greater than the design. The concept plan for the roadway was to open up additional land for development with the Red Lobster as the lead client. From this, Nez Perce Drive became an established roadway in the City of Lewiston and now has a final connection to Gun Club Road. The culmination of this concept continues to build as a commercial complex which includes Home Depot, Pier One, and Applebee’s Bar and Grill among other big box sites. The initial utilities of water, sewer, storm drainage, telephone, CATV, fiberoptics, electrical, and gas were established to service the area. The plan also included the addition of a traffic light on Thain Grade. The roadway was designed to AASHTO, City of Lewiston, and Idaho Transportation Department Standards.
